Soccer Villa

Toluca, Mexico

On a generous site at the base of a mountain, FR-EE was invited to design a weekend house overlooking a soccer pitch that could be used by multiple families as a clubhouse. The concept began with the idea of having a large wooden roof that hovers above the house, presenting a floating illusion while functioning as an active green roof. A rational plan creates generous interior spaces that can accommodate many guests for events and to watch one of the owner’s biggest passion: soccer, the national sport of Mexico. The house contains a living room, dining room, play area, movie projection room, spa, kitchen and a large terrace.
