Villa S

Mexico City

Residential homes are one of the most challenging project types as they contain the greatest concentration of use in the least amount of space. In the case of Villa S, located on a sloped site, the solution for increasing the habitable area on the property was to reduce contact between structure and ground. The house is supported by a concrete foundation and steel structure that work together like the trunk and branches of a tree. Creating a strong line and forward movement, the living room is the only space that touches the ground while the rooms occupy the cantilevered space above.
