MADU

Mexico City

The Museum of Architecture, Design and Urbanism (MADU) houses a private collection of art, design and urbanism in Mexico City. The museum was conceived as a small design object in and of itself, blending harmoniously with its park surroundings while also giving the unique collection a distinct presence. The form is derived from its efficient structural engineering and construction strategy. Undulating concrete slabs are stacked so the peaks of lower curves connect with the valleys of upper curves, opening organic spaces in a helicoidal organization.
